no possibility to enter password for remote repositories

I am using a repository on a remote server via FTP.

For commands such as commit, push or update the plugin should ask for the password of the server.
If not, operations will fail.

In the meantime, you can workaround password promtpts for ftp using authentication.conf. look at: http://doc.bazaar-vcs.org/bzr.dev/en/user-guide/authentication_conf.html

Thanks for the reminder about authentication.conf

If one is moving around a lot or even moves the developmens files on USB from machien to machine a password dialogue would be a really nice option.

Any updates on this issue? If this can be implemented, my company would move to Bazaar on all our Java projects currently using either SVN or Mercurial.

By the way, the BZR Eclipse plugin is great otherwise. Thanks for your work.

I wasn't able to work on this yet.

I think as the auth-ring was implemented the authentication conf workaround is the only way to work with remote repos that requires authentication.

Commiting to a repository in Linux works fine, the password dialog is pops up and changes are committed after entering it.
In Windows it's possible to update the branch with the password set in the URI (sftp://user:password@....), but committing is not possible.
The error:

Error while executing commit

appears.
Any solution for this?

Hi moadin,

In order to workaround this limitation using ssh connections, you need to use a ssh-agent.
I think in windoes there is a putty agent.
