Bug Description
byobu on freebsd with back-end screen does not open a new screen if "ctrl-a c" is pressed (screen-mode).
The new screen opens, but is closed immediately.

tmux-1.9a
With tmux "ctrl-a c" works as expected.

Thanks for the report. I don't have a freebsd machine at the moment, so I can't confirm or reproduce it yet.
