gpm mouse service doesn't work well in byobu

Bug Description

By Default,when gpm service is running,I can select words in tty via mouse.
However,after I launch byobu,the selected words would become unselected each time the curser blinks.
My system is Kubuntu 13.04 X86_64

PS:My default shell is bash.And this also happens in fbterm.

Thanks for the report.

I'm not able to reproduce this on Ubuntu 13.04. I installed gpm, and started the service. But I'm able to highlight text, copy, and paste just fine.

Can you provide steps to reproduce it? It is possible this depends on the actual gpm device parameters used.
You may also want to see if the issue reproduces with other text screen based programs (ncurses, screen, etc.), as it may be a lower level issue than byobu.
