command-not-found crashed for dos2unix

I tried this on Ubuntu precise:

$ dos2unix
Sorry, command-not-found has crashed! Please file a bug report at:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/command-not-found/+filebug
Please include the following information with the report:

command-not-found version: 0.2.44

The misbehaviour seems to depend on the locale settings:

$ echo $LANG
de_DE.UTF-8
$ dos2unix
Die Anwendung »dos2unix« ist momentan nicht installiert. Sie können sie durch folgende Eingabe installieren:
sudo apt-get install dos2unix

$ unset LANG
$ locale
LANG=
LANGUAGE=de:en
LC_CTYPE="POSIX"
LC_NUMERIC="POSIX"
