Live CD and install, slow and hanging on Toshiba Satellite A15-S129

I have been trying to install Ubuntu 7.04 on a Toshiba Satellite A15-S129. The live CD is hard locking up at "searching for filesystems" during installation. This machine runs windows xp without issue.

It has been a while since you reported this bug. Is this still an issue for you? Can you confirm this in the latest Ubuntu release?
