Bug Description

According to output of "ps ax", I've got 57 processes displayed as "/usr/lib/cups/notifier/dbus dbus://" on my system, and I haven't even connected my printer to the PC this boot. According to gnome-system-monitor, every process eats up 1,6Mb of memory, so I've got 56*1,6=90Mb of memory leaked.

Lars, did you not fix a thing like this in Precise?

This seems to be the same issue as bug #959195.

Sergey, if you don't have any custom CUPS subscriptions set up, can you please delete all of them with these commands:

  sudo stop cups
  sudo rm /etc/cups/subscriptions.conf*
  sudo rm -r /var/cache/cups
  sudo start cups

(See the aforementioned bug for a more detailed description.)

The amount cups dbus notifier processes should go down immediately.

I've been running Precise since Beta1 on this box, so that's probably a problem with leftover configs. It seems to be fixed after purging them as you said. I'll let you know if the problem reappears.

Thanks for such a swift reply!
