Bug Description

The banners (ads) in 12.04's Software Center are buggy. At this moment there are 4 banners in the SC. The second banner should be the Multiwinia banner and direct to the Multiwinia game.

It works like that on my Eee-Pc. But on my desktop-pc the second banner is the Tickr banner and when I click it, it directs me to Multiwinia. On my desktop the Tickr banner shows twice, where it should only show once.

I find it difficult to explain, so I made a video; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1PfqvnGagc

Also the Definitive Guides of Ubuntu has a complete black background on my Eee-Pc, while on my desktop the background is 50% black and 50% white. I believe the background was intended to be black?

I am using a 1920x1080 resolution flatscreen.

Thanks, there are more issues here, the banner is white on the right hand side for Lords of Ultima for example. It shouldn't be.

Is there anything special about the system? Like using different graphics drivers?

I can reproduce the white banner when using the fglrx binary driver, it appears its having difficulties (or showing different behavior at least) for offscreen windows than the normal drivers.

I can not reproduce the issue with the banner leading to the wrong page however.

Thanks for looking into it.

I'm just using the fglrx driver from the Ubuntu repos, I haven't done anything unusual there.

Unfortunately I cannot give directions about steps of how to reproduce the banner leading to the wrong page. On my machine this happens consistently.

I've also seen this issue for a while now. Using NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M and Intel graphics card Optimus setup with Bumblebee and proprietary NVIDIA driver. Same result for using "optirun". This affects all ad banners.

Also ads are not update: I still see the ad for Humble Indie Bundle 3, although there is one for Bundle 4 already. In addition, when clicking on the one for Bundle 3 it takes me to the package for Lord of Ultima.
