Bug Description

Every Unity session after certain (yet unknown) events such applications as GIMP and Java applets (javaws) start not occurring into the taskbar. Precisely what happens: when I run GIMP, its icon is shown in the taskbar for a while and then disappears forever. Consequently, there is no way to access such windows from GUI if one minimizes them. Once happened in a single session, these apps do not appear in the taskbar until reboot.

I have encountered this bug three times already, but concrete causes are yet to be discovered.

I'm seeing this constantly with Java Swing apps. If I minimise the app I've had it, the icon disappears from the panel and the window switcher list. I can see it's still running in the system monitor, I just can't raise it anymore.

It's deeply annoying.

Low priority? Hmmmm...
