Bug Description

As described, with cleanv2/3 SS works fine, breaks immediately after switching to new theme. Also returns immediately when switching back.

Just a hunch, but you should probably file this against Firefox, as a webpage should not be able to break a browser's capability to smooth-scroll.

Additionally, I'm unable to reproduce; smooth-scrolling works just fine with the revised theme. Could you try disabling your browser extensions and checking if it still happens?

I don't have any extensions enabled. May be just one of those things that can fall under corner case hardware wise.
Tried on both 12.04 & a new 12.10 install, same thing. Seen with FF 10/11/12.

With a little care I noticed I can set up UF in a FF window with the same page having both the 'ubuntu' theme & cleanv3 available thru the back & forward buttons. Becomes quite obvious then.

I noticed someone mentioning the same in your beta thread, maybe I'll quote them & see if they're still seeing & what hardware, ect.

At the end of the day not really a big deal, particular if localized or a corner case. Opera works fine with SS with both themes. I guess that with the emergence of SS in gtk3 in many apps I've gotten used to having SS much more often than not.

Hardware here -
Dell 1330m, nvidia 8400m GS, powermizer set to max performance, tried with nvidia-current, nvidia-current-updates, nouveau

The new theme involves minor changes to CSS code and new graphics, most the same size are the old ones. I would try clearer out your cache to make should your browser is not confused after the change.

From fresh boots today it seems much better, can't quite determine why. (clearing cache yesterday did not help.

Noticed yesterday - only affected compiz sessions & the combined cpu use of FF, compiz, & X was considerately higher while using the ubuntu theme. (X alone could hit 60 - 70% during extended scrolls
Today the usage is lower & no real diff between ubuntu & cleanv2/3

Usually I can mark bugs, (at least my own) as invalid - can't do so here.
In any event whatever the issue was it resolved in all installs here earlier today so consider this report now as invalid
