Rebooting in loop

Ubuntu 12.04, kernel 3.2.0-24-generic

Shortly after booting and entering X, the system restarts.

The problem is solved if ACPI is turned off at booting or a kernel without CPU frequnency compiled in is used.

Seriously - there is a critical problem with the core of the system (the kernel literally..) and nobody cares?
