Bug Description

Since I have updated to the latest version of Ubuntu 12.04 my system crashes whenever I use Firefox or Chrome. I am unable to pinpoint any particular action that causes this crash. I let the system try to recover on its own, but it never does. When I am surfing the web the entire system will simply lockup and the cooling fans will go to full RPM's. I am able to move the mouse on the screen, but it doesn't do anything and at this point I need to hard-boot. I have used other programs and the lock-up does not occur. It only happens when using the browsers. I know this probably isn't enough information to properly diagnose my problem. Let me know what else would help. I'm a bit of a novice. Thanks.

This has happened 5 times in the course of trying to file this bug report. Ugh...
