Bug Description

Soon after reboot, I get one such warning. Next the network drivers crash, some more verbose (forcedeth), some silently. I think that even VirtualBox drivers crash. To recover, I rmmod and insmod, but in a matter of minutes the network drivers crash again.

Luci Sandor, thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text.

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.

Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance.

Luci Sandor, the issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers of the software by following the instructions verbatim at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/kernel . If you have done so, please tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a bugwatch that will inform us about the status.

Triaged High due to this being a problem with an essential hardware component (built-in networking).

Thanks in advance.

I suggest closing this because I formatted / reinstalled, changed network adapter and cable - just in case. I shall not be able to provide more detail on the bug.
