Bug Description

Today I ran "Update Manager", it have several updates for "Compiz" and "Unity". I am running Ubuntu 12.04 on a HP Pavilion dv9000 with Nvidis GeForce Go 7600 video. After the updates I rebooted. Now I can no longer get a Unity 3D panel (left side of scrren) or a "systray" on the top of scrren. Only Unity 2D works. On the Unity 3D screen I ran "unity --reset" in a terminal. below is the printout from that terminal.

[09:35:02] xxxxxxx@L01U1204:~$ unity --reset

I don't think bug 982485 addresses this issue as I am using an Intel graphics card.

lspci -v gives the output
Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)

Solutions offered on the linked bug report are centred on installing specific divers for nVidia, which won't help in my case.

Ju Ping, the Bug Description describes an nvidia graphics card. If you have a different bug then please log a new bug.

Daniel. Then my bug report https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/996654 is not a duplicate.
