I just finished watching an hour long streaming video. At the end of this program I encountered the exact same problem as when I filed for this bug. In addition, I now have a system monitoring program in place. Checking this, while attempting to quit Firefox I found (after terminating the video) that my cpu usage remained at 26-28%; memory usage @ 1.5 gb. Normally when watching FF video I can expect cpu @ 13-15% and memory useage @ 600-800mb. I hope this helps.

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu and Firefox since that time.

Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) reached end-of-life on April 28, 2017.

Do you still see a problem related to the one that you reported using currently supported versions of Firefox and Ubuntu? Please let us know if you do and in which version of Ubuntu otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.

Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.
