Bug Description

More a bitesize bug

BeatBox 0.4 on Ubuntu 12.04

There is now Album Art shown in the Ubuntu Sound Menu. First the normal Ubuntu "no album art"-picture shows up (which is normal) but after a while the default album art-picture of BeatBox is shown, instead of the Album Art of the song I'm currently listening to.

Well if the song has no album art, this is correct behavior. Does the album art show in beatbox or does the default album art show?

Oh, forgot to say that, I'm sorry. This happens all the time, to songs without album art, to songs with album art BeatBox has downloaded and to song that have album art in their folder.

It's a little bit difficult to understand what you are saying. For me I have only one issue. When album art is set (drag'n'drop or download), the new album art is not shown in the sound menu. It is totally expected for no album art to show when songs have no album art. Other than that, it works for me. Does this sound right?

You're right, what I said was confusing, I'm sorry.

You're absolutely right: If there is album art set, it does not show up in the Ubuntu Sound Menu. That's all.

Nope, it doesn't work at all, the only noticeable change is between the ubuntu's default "no cover-art" image and beatbox's no cover-art. I've tested it with both mp3 and m4a files but still no luck.

Problem is, that it's trying to show "back" of album and not "cover" in sound menu. I tried that with mp3 with both and it showed album's back. Albums only with cover are not showed. I tried that in gnome-shell with proper extension and not in unity.

I also tried Rhytmbox - which provided correct cover image to menu - so I guess bug should be on side of BeatBox. Version 0.6.

Just a quick comment to confirm the issue. I have tagged all of my music with ID3 V2 tags with the album covers embedded in the MP3 file. I am running Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit with Gnome Shell. Other music players (Banshee, Rhythmbox, Clementine, etc) show the album art in the Sound Menu and the system notification pop-up.

It's interesting to note that other forks like Noise, XNoise also do not show the album art in the Ubuntu Sound Menu either.
