Bug Description

Natural Scrolling takes no effect in some places.
For example, in the Ubuntu Tweak Source Center, the scrolling direction is reversed.

Thanks for your report.

I can confirm this bug, and I found that it only work under GTK+2.0 Apps, It doesn't work under GTK+3.0 apps like Software Center.

I will try to research more about this.

In fact, in some other places, e.g. nautilus, it not works too.

This needs to be handled upstream at GTK 3.4; I believe their implementation of 'smooth scrolling' ignores the traditional mechanisms for reversing scrolling direction (Xmodmap).

Too bad, I just upgraded from 10.04 -> 12.04 and stumbled upon this bug. Gtk3/Gnome3 is indeed ignoring my xmodmap settings.

Natural (vertical) scrolling is also ignored in Marlin (from Elementary) but I think that's their fault :)

I can confirm this bug is still relevant, at least on Ubuntu 12.10 on a Gazelle Professional laptop from System76 (has Ubuntu preinstalled).
