Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox
When downloading a PDF file (Portable document format) to a partition which uses the NTFS-Filesystem, the downloaded file will be renamed to name.pdf.bin
I tried different filesystems and different file types and different servers. But it only occures with PDFs on NTFS-Systems.
Well I just did another few tests. Sometimes downloading the file will create a 0-byte-file. This occured on NTFS, never on ext3 / reiserFS. Using "Save as" will not create these files.
However, the bottom part of this message is a duplicate of bug 88739.

I have exactly the same problem with ".bin" suffixes:
When I download an mail attachment from free mail service mail.seznam.cz,
and saved it on ext3, everything goes ok, but if I saved it on ntfs-3g volume,
it gets additional suffix ".bin", so file.doc became file.doc.bin and file.pdf became
file.pdf.bin ...it maybe dependent on mime type got from server because I
didn't notice this problem when downloading .doc and .pdf files from other sites.
