starting mail from messaging menu adds second mail icon to launcher

Bug Description
I am using evolution as my preferred mail program with Ubuntu 12.04 and have its icon locked to the launcher. However, when I start evolution from the "mail" entry in the messaging menu, a second, identical icon is added to the launcher. I had expected that the locked icon would be used to indicate that evolution was being run.

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect 993123 and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
