Bug Description
Dear Ubuntu maintainers,
I am one of the uploaders for festival and speech-tools in Debian.
I have noticed that "Quantal Quetzal" defaults to gcc 4.7.
Festival and speech-tools will fail to build under gcc 4.7 as currently in
the ubuntu Quetzal archive.
Over at Debian we have produced patches for this and some other issues.
I recommend you move over to 2.1~release-5 for festival and 2.1~release-4
for speech-tools as the starting point for the ubuntu package.
These sources can be found in our wheezy archive.
If you have any difficulties please contact me.
best regards,
Peter

It seems this bug was fixed, so I am closing it
festival (1:2.1~ release- 1ubuntu3) quantal; urgency=low
* Cherry-pick from 1:2.1~release-5 to fix FTBFS:
[ Peter Drysdale ]
* Change config to point to new location of multiarch speech_tools
during compile process. (Fixes FTBS with multiarch enabled speech_tools).
Build-depend on the multiarch-enabled version of speech_tools.
