Bug Description

I installed Grub customizer via Synaptic manager, also installed it from terminal.

But when I click Grub customizer icon, nothing happens. No error messages, no window popup, nothing.

Ubuntu 12.04.

Try running it from a terminal to get more error messages. Just run:

`grub-customizer`

Also try running

`sudo grub-customizer`

this is a way to bypass policykit. I assume it works, but it's not the final solution.

The same thing: did not work, at first. Only asked password, and then, nothing.

Tried "grub-customizer" on Terminal:

No protocol specified
No protocol specified

Tried "sudo grub-customizer", and then, yes, graphical interface opened.

Grub Customizer has the same problem like synaptic or gparted have: pkexec cannot run graphical applications when using KDM. However they used another way for Kubuntu 12.04 to make it running from the menu (a KDE specific option of the .desktop file which runs the application as root using the a KDE specific authentification method). I did the same now… so the problem is fixed in version 2.5.5.
