Haciendo seguimiento al error, parece ser que el paquete de LDAP no fue compilado con este soporte:

/usr/lib/ldap/back_ldbm-2.2.so.7

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Are you trying to use the ldbm backend ?

The LDBM backend type has been deprecated in OpenLDAP 2.2 and has shown to not work well.

Changed in openldap2.3:
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Incomplete

I've just had this problem, and solved it. Check the perms on your /var/lib/ldap directory and files to ensure that the 'openldap' user can write to it. I had mine left as 'root' from having just done a 'slapadd' :)
