Bug Description

Network-manager worked fine on pre-12.04 versions.
After upgrade from 11.10 to 12.04 No more internet connection with an old laptop Toshiba S 1710
lacking built-in ethernet connector this PC connects the internet whether with a PCMCIA ethernet card or wifi with a usb dongle==> Only the ethernet connection fails to work.
==> tried to hot unplug/replug ==> no change
Tried Lxse, xubuntu, all fail to connect.
If connected through a USB dongle(wifi) ==> Works fine
