Bug Description

For the first time in YEARS I tried to BUY some software. As soon as I answer that stinkin' captcha quiz, which is REALLY REALLY HARD on old diabetic eyes, the Software Store just closes, and it winks out of existance real fast. So, I just saved myself five bucks. I really ticked, but mostly over "captcha". Please toss it into the trashcan icon.

Just tried again, and this time entering my email address for launchpad and password it folded like a house of cards. Ran it from a terminal using "software-center" and I get a segfault.

...so I tried software-center-gtk3 and it died as well

Hi wayward4now, thanks for reporting back. Actually, the 'software-center-gtk3' script has been depracated since Oneiric, and so should not be used. Please run it as simply:

  $ software-center

And please attach the output here. Thank you for your help and for your patience!

Best regards,
Gary
