package slapd 2.4.28-1.1ubuntu4 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

This error happened during my upgrade from 11.10 to 12.04 using the built-in system upgrade tool.

Loading the database from the LDIF dump failed with the following
error while running slapadd:
    slapadd: line 29: database #1 (dc=nodomain) not configured to hold "dc=car.roux,dc=ru"; did you mean to use database #2 (dc=car.roux,dc=ru)?
dpkg: error processing slapd (--configure):
 subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

Since my update to precise slapd has this bug. Purging and reinstalling doesn't help. So I run slapd -Tt and got this:
sudo slapd -Tt
[sudo] password for martin:
5051b004 olcDbDirectory: value #0: invalid path: Permission denied
5051b004 config error processing olcDatabase={1}hdb,cn=config: olcDbDirectory: value #0: invalid path: Permission denied
slaptest: bad configuration file!
