Bug Description

Three times in two days i noticed this bug.
After I pressed the enter key on the keyboard ubuntu returned to the login screen with a logout of the current session.
I can't reproduce the bug because i think it happens randomly (one time when i copied two files and another time when i surfed with chrome).

I use Ubuntu 12.04 64Bit and I installed only Keepass2, Chrome and the driver amd 12.4. The system is clean like out of the box.

Also wanted to add that I use a logitech keyboard plugged into a usb 3.0 port. I read somewhere that may be the cause BUT i must say that I used it without error in ubuntu 11.04.

Do you think the problem is of the keyboard?

This sounds like bugs that have occurred in at least two previous Ubuntu releases. In each case the X session was starting on the wrong console (not greater than VT6) and was being interfered with by a getty process on the same console. In each case it was very much timing related.

In the askubuntu question I cite above both people affected noted they were booting from SSD's.

When you think you are about to run into this problem, please use CTRL-ALT-F7, CTRL-ALT-F1, etc., to find out what console your X window session is active on, then go back and let it crash. After you have caught it this way please post your findings here.

I tried the TTY from 1 to 7 and the first problem I saw is that I couldn't stay on the TTY. There was just a flash were I could see the "login: " line and it came back to my desktop. Same for all.
Back to my desktop, I noticed I could "write" on the TTY (I saw the letter I typed and the cursor moved forward). So I try to login. I type my login, enter, and my password, second time enter. I didn't logout when I hit enter, but that didn't solve the problem.

It's look like it has been fixed in 12.10. I didn't see the bug since I upgraded Ubuntu.
