Bug Description

with default setting, launcher locates on the left hand side of the desktop. when launcher is set to 'auto-hide', it's difficult to trigger launcher by moving the mouse to the left edge of the desktop, a line of shadow effect can be seen when the mouse moves to the left edge but not the launcher. launcher would not be triggered unless the mouse moves along the left edge back and forth.

Ubuntu version: 12.04

I know this has happened to me in 11.10 and 11.04 as well... Looking through the code now, but haven't found anything on it yet.

Well it did not happen to me when I was using 11.10. And I discover that just now, by setting System Settings -> Appearance -> Behavior -> Reveal Sensitivity to the highest, it works fine, moving mouse to the edge immediately shows launcher just as I expected.
Maybe it's not a bug afterall?

I was being a little too optimistic, the lag or insensibility still persists, especially when certain applications are running, for example LibreOffice.

This was working fine for me in 11.10, but in 12.04 after switching to auto-hide, I can't get it to unhide with the mouse, only with the Super key. Inspiron 1545.

Seems in my case it actually might be a function of the new "reveal sensitivity" setting under "appearance / behavior". With the default setting (about 25%?) the launcher does come up, but only if I slam the pointer against the side of the screen really hard. Setting sensitivity to roughly 75% makes it behave more reasonably... most of the time. Still sometimes takes a few tries to get it to come up.
