Bug Description
Binary package hint: kde
If something crashes in KDE during shutdown (started from menu), the halt process will not continue until the crash reporter window is OK'ed. Krusader tends to crash a lot, if not closed explicitly before shutdown (please refer to https:/
I do not think this is how it should work. If I choose to "Turn Off Computer", I expect it to turn off, crashes nonwithstanding. Its not a nice thing to come back from work, and to find my laptop I thought I stopped in the morning still waiting for me to click on the "OK" button of the crash handler.
I have an HP/Compaq nx9010 laptop. I first installed Xubuntu, so I have gdm, I do not know if it matters.
How to reproduce:
1. Log into KDE
2. Open a few applications (Krusader should be in it, and before bug #64682 is solved :), Firefox, Kopete, etc)
3. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del, select "Turn Off Computer".
4. See if something crashes. If something did, notice your machine won't stop until you OK the crash handler window.
5. If nothing crashed, repeat steps 1-3 until it does. Or simulate a crash somehow.
I can provide logs / traces and also would gladly test the correction.
