Tooltips not working

OS: 64bit Windows 7

Hover tooltips over buttons do not display in any of the command bars or dialogs. In a dialog, if I right click on a button, the tooltip appears and will not go away. Subsequently clicking on other buttons in the dialog shows the tooltip for that button.

I've attached 2 screenshots in one file. The first shows the cursor hovering over the Linear gradient button with no tooltip displayed. The second shows what happens after I right clicked on Flat color and then moved the cursor over Linear gradient. The tooltip is stuck and stays in that position on the display even if I move the Inkscape window around.

Could you please provide the detailed version information from Inkscape menu 'Help > About Inkscape'?

I restarted Inkscape and the tooltips are working correctly. I have 2 displays--don't know if that could be a factor.

I'm Inkscape 0.48.2 r9819, so same version, recently installed. I'm new to Inkscape so this could be a newbie thing and if so, would appreciate advise. I presume tooltips to be built in functionality. I however see no tooltips with mouse-over anything. Is this an Inkscape preference - I've looked and can't find. Or is it system related and set somewhere I can't find? Thanks.

Not reproduced on Windows XP, Inkscape 0.48.2, 0.48.5 and trunk rev. 14020. All the tooltips show as expected.

Tested again on Windows 7, with Inkscape 0.91 (32-bit and 64-bit version) with no bug.

@arkmundi, @D Soa, would you be willing to update your Inkscape version and confirm it's fixed with 0.91? Thanks!

2016-10-10 VictorWestmann: I believe this feature already exists in Inkscape 0.91. :-)

@Victor - The feature also existed in 0.48, but in some cases the tooltips didn't show.
Probably an issue with the devlibs. As they were updated since the reporter notified the issue, and that nobody can confirm the bug still affects recent Inkscape versions, I'm closing it now.

Don't hesitate to reopen if you run into the same issue with Inkscape 0.91 or a more recent version.
