Can't use virtual secondary display in VMWare Player

Despite VMWare Player being configured to provide 2 displays, gnome-control-center only detects one.

I am not sure what you're asking here, or who should be answering it. Can you elaborate?

I have the same problem in VIrtualBox BTW. That environment is gone so I can't open a bug report for that right away.

no, I'm asking "do you consider the xrandr command output as buggy as well"? i.e it lists "Screen 0: minimum 1 x 1, current 1920 x 1200, maximum 8192 x 8192" as the only output

Judging by the lack of any other options in VMware player, yes. I don't have access to that environment anymore, unfortunately.

ok, if "xrandr" has the same issue it's not a bug in the ui, rather in the video driver,xorg

affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) → xorg-server (Ubuntu)
