Reproduced with Inkscape 0.48.2, 0.48.3.1 and 0.48+devel r11284 on OS X 10.7.2 (64bit).

Only happens once per opened document window (on first use of text tool).

Reoccurs in other document windows opened from within the same Inkscape process (menu 'File > Open…') as well as in a duplicate window (menu 'Edit > Duplicate window').

importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Confirmed

Sorry, just checked again and actually that's NOT fixed. Migrated to gitlab: https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inbox/-/issues/2732

Looks like I can no longer set the bug status to Invalid, but the bug's status should be Invalid (open, but migrated to Gitlab)
