Icons "Privacy" and "Backup" are swapped in System Settings

Noticed the icons "Privacy" and "Backup" in System Settings are swapped. Dont know if this is really a bug but it makes more sense the backup icon being the one with the "back in time clock" and the privacy icon being the "safe" icon.

Thank you for your bug report, that's not a gnome-control-center issue, the icons come with those software

yes, i noticed this too.

You would think that privacy would be the icon of the safe, and that privacy would be the arrow around around the clock.

I also think that the sound icon would make more sense if it was a speaker or something, not a knob.

And Online Accounts - i dont know what should replace that.

I think either the clock or the safe would be fine for Backup, but neither of them make any sense for Privacy. That needs a new icon -- perhaps a hotel doorhanger, perhaps a padlock, perhaps something else.

gnome-icon-theme 3.8 (in Saucy now) includes a 'preferences-system-privacy' icon.

Jeremy, I saw this. Are you planning to use this exact icon for activity-log-manager? Won't it be confusing for people who used stock gnome?

My instinct was to call the standalone activity-log-manager "Ubuntu Privacy" to distinguish it from the Privacy panel built-in to GNOME Settings 3.8. I don't know what you should do for other distros though.

There are advantages and disadvantages to using the same icon. Using the same icon is easier for theme developers. It would be like an extension to the icon naming spec:

On the other hand, using the same icon isn't good for branding but activity-log-manager doesn't really brand itself currently.

Actually the standalone activity-log-manager is not meant for Ubuntu in the first place. Ubuntu is supposed to use activity-log-manager-panel, whereas the former is meant for non-Ubuntu which don't allow additional panels in System Settings and in non-elementary OS which don't have switchboard. The standalone should just be called "Privacy Manager"

ALM doesn't really brand itself because it it supposed to play along with the OS. zeitgeist/alm is pretty much useless if they have to work separately. It is mostly useful when integrated with OS userspace (applications + desktop shell)

Backups has been using the safe icon for years at this point. I'm closing this for deja-dup.
