Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdesktop

Screensavers don't work if dpms is disabled manually, also disables automatic locking.

if you use xset -dpms to disable dpms then the screensaver will only blank, no matter what screensaver you have set, also it will not lock the desktop.

3.5.6-0ubuntu17

The screensaver also doesn't activate/work correctly if dpms is set to a lesser activation time than the screensaver is. I found this patch, but for some reason couldn't find a bug on it.

Well, apparently this has to do with if dpms is disabled under monitor&display settings in kde, if this is disabled then the screensavers dont' work right, even if DPMS is turned on/off by another program later.

Still working on weather or not this is related to my kdesktop crash that seems to have something to do with dpms as well.
