Bug Description

After switching to new empty desktop, Super key does not open search in Dash.
If there is any app on the desktop, it works normally.

This one seems similar to bug #953089, but:
- this is not fixed in current Precise beta
- holding Super key works (displays numbers in dash and help chart)

Thank you for your bug report, is nautilus running and handling your desktop? That's known to be buggy without it

It is Unity 3d.

Yes, it seems enabling desktop icons in Ubuntu Tweak did the trick.
Previously it works without it, hence the problem.

Of course, it may be good to add some warning to Ubuntu Tweak to prevent
similar problems for other users.

Not sure if that helps users who inherit the option from previous versions.

Either way, this bug can be closed.

Thanks!

That's still a bug, though a low priority one since not displaying the desktop is neither default nor a supported option, I think it's a duplicate as well but I don't find the number now
