Bug Description

1) Distribution 12.04 LTS

2) Affects : lightDM

3) What should happen
user defined wallpaper should be visible in lightDM before login and after logout.

4) What happens
wallpaper not displayed.

Description fom mohican (on 12.04 LTS 64 bits fresh install) :

Default wallpaper, single image : displayed.
Default dynamic wallpaper (time changing) : not displayed.
User's own wallpaper from image directory : not displayed.

Description from Paul W. :

Downloaded and installed current updates to lightdm through update manager. Lightdm doesnot display selected user wallpaper on startup. tested with login and logout. User desktop wallpaper is not displayed. Default lighdm/unity wallpaper is displayed.

This is not a duplicate of bug #944862, because it happens in a case where there is no disk encryption.

There may be a link between the fact that the wallpaper is not displayed and the fact that sometimes the session does not open : freezes on "connecting..." message.

Some members of the french speaking community are investigating this other problem
