Bug Description

Current version of pcsc-lite is 1.8.3
https://alioth.debian.org/frs/?group_id=30105

In Precise we have a version of 1.7.4 which is from 23.06.2011 16:18, quite old.

I need a current pcsc-lite for using my feitian PKI token, see here:
http://www.gooze.eu/howto/smartcard-quickstarter-guide/opensc-installation-under-gnu-linux

Can it be updated for 12.04 LTS?

Sorry, it's really too late for this in precise as the library is on a number of our images. A backport could be considered after the new version gets in 12.10, but would require testing of ~25 runtime and ~20 build dependencies.

Thanks for your quick reply.

I already tried to build a backport by myself for natty. But it is quite
difficult.

To be able to use the Feitian ePass2003 device you need libccid version 1.4.3 or above
http://pcsclite.alioth.debian.org/ccid/supported.html#0x096E0x0807

Precise has libccid 1.4.5-1 so it should work.
I don't see why you also need to update pcsc-lite.
