Bug Description

There is all kinds of possible sources for problems in this such as masking, gradients, and raster content, so I'm not sure what exactly causes the problem.

Ghostscript (via Gimp) seems to render it correctly. (or at least a lot closer to correctly)

This is with Inkscape built from what is currently the latest from trunk as of this bug report. (0.48+devel 11073)

Import produces better result when daisy-chaining EPS import with the experimental 'Adobe PDF via poppler-cairo' input extension (instead of the normal PDF input extension) - see attached SVG version (note: this PDF input format has text converted to outlines).

a fix for the radial gradient has been committed to bzr rev 11283.
- there are 2 remaining issues that need to be fixed:
- a white rectangular border, a few pixels wide, surrounding the main image, also present in the 'Adobe PDF via poppler-cairo' version
- some missing dark text outlines in the word Dubliner. outlines appear to be present, but have the wrong fill style

- the problem with some missing dark text outlines in the word Dubliner has been fixed. It was an unexpected side effect of bzr rev 11184, which was done to fix Bug 919176. That has been corrected in rev 11340 and the text now has correct outlines.
- the problem with a white rectangular border, a few pixels wide, surrounding the main image, appears to be an upstream problem. It also shows up if one uses Ghostscript to convert from .eps to .pdf and then views the result in Gimp.

- therefore I am going to mark this as Fix Committed. If you feel there are still unresolved issues, please feel free to re-open this report
