Bug Description

Hi all,

compiz crashed when installing a new application from the ubuntu software center. This appears since the last update of ubuntu 12.04 daily build on yesterday morning.

The dash/launcher can be used, but everything else on the desktop is crashed, so only a restart of x-org can help in this situation.

Yes, it along with some other crashes started to happen after the last update when a newer version of Unity was installed. So all these problems have something to do with that new version of Unity.

For the sake of completeness, i have inserted the unity version into the bug description.

The animation that shows that the icon of the newly launched app goes to the launcher, is causing the problem I believe. There is no way of just turning the animation off but without turning off the New applications in launcher option.

I confirm the problem here on 12.04 beta on Samsung N310. I don't encounter it anymore after deactivating "icon in the launcher".
