Bug Description

Crashed after systems updates this evening.

Goes into desktop with no system bar or unity launchers. Keyboard is slow and unresponsive at times.

unity --reset and unity &> /dev/null & disown did not work to solve the problem. Can only use Unity 2d at the current time and it is slow and sluggish.

Thank you for your report!

However, processing it in order to get sufficient information for the
developers failed (it does not generate a useful symbolic stack trace). This
might be caused by some outdated packages which were installed on your system
at the time of the report:

libc-bin version 2.15-0ubuntu6 required, but 2.15-0ubuntu7 is available
outdated debug symbol package for libc-bin: package version 2.15-0ubuntu7 dbgsym version 2.15-0ubuntu6
dpkg version 1.16.1.2ubuntu6 required, but 1.16.1.2ubuntu7 is available
outdated debug symbol package for dpkg: package version 1.16.1.2ubuntu7 dbgsym version 1.16.1.2ubuntu6
multiarch-support version 2.15-0ubuntu6 required, but 2.15-0ubuntu7 is available
libc6 version 2.15-0ubuntu6 required, but 2.15-0ubuntu7 is available
outdated debug symbol package for unity: package version 5.10.0-0ubuntu1 dbgsym version 5.8.0-0ubuntu2

Please upgrade your system to the latest package versions. If you still
encounter the crash, please file a new report.

Thank you for your understanding, and sorry for the inconvenience!

I determined this compiz error was an actual error in the NVIDIA current video drivers and not compiz at all.

Problem still existed after loading the latest packages mentioned above in comment #5.

I deactivated the proprietory nvidia drivers and compix works without error.

I made this a duplicate of bug 980672. Only difference in mine and them is I was using Nvidia-current and couldn't force version.
