Bug Description

I think the search categories should be next to the search box (next to it on the right or right under it).
When I need to search for a song I need to navigate to the bottom to select the music category, and then go back all the way up across the whole desktop to type again. If I remember it was a movie and not a music file, I need to do that again. I guess you get the picture...

Thank you for reporting this bug to make ubuntu better. I am marking it incomplete since it awaits input from the design team. This is standard protocol. Rest assured it will be looked into.

You can use Alt+Tab to change the lenses and you don't need to click on the search box to enter text.

Right, but do you think that is intuitive for new users? Don't you think that everything related to performing a search should be grouped together? Going a little bit further, I think the search box and categories should be next to each other and have a slightly different background so it is really clear that everything used to perform the search is right there.

@Varun Priolkar, Ctrl+Tab is use to switch between lenses.

@Marcelo Ruiz, I think it is more appropriate to continue this discussion in the unity design mailing list. This way you would be able to discuss with other Unity developers and hear their opinions on this as well.
