Bug Description

Open File dialog requires double-click to open a file or folder; that's inconsistent with Marlin's single click. The settings at /org/gtk/Settings/file-chooser in dconf don't have such option, so looks like we'll have to patch it.

we can make our own Open dialog and put it in granite or, to have more consistence, we can ship a custom version of gtk with the one-clicke file chooser dialog and also with other gtk patches like our About dialog.

Yes, but it's ancient and it's tagged "needs work".

Okay so is someone going to patch GTK?

Personally, I think we can let this one slide. We need to make a new Open File dialog anyways, which will probably live in Granite and is way too much work to land before Luna.

Is this technical debt? Should it be triaged and also affecting Granite?

Patching GTK to solve bugs has been brought up 2 times that I can somewhat recall. Both times it was deemed to dangerous.

This is actually a UI inconsistency and unimplemented feature, not technical debt. Removing the tag.

Untargeting for beta1 since it doesn't sound like we're going to solve this in any realistic amount of time.

I hope one will still be able to decide of one want to single or double click after patching. Prefer the dumb old doubleclicking.
