Thanks Brian I would agree with you it is probably the migration assistant.

I will be doing additional current daily tests on the Lubuntu Desktop amd64
Precise 12.04. So if the error does not repeat in the later spins, how
would you like for me to handle this Bug? It seems reasonable to me to
mark it invalid if it does not continue to come up in future updates.

Just did another Full Drive Iso Test installation that crashed with the 20120411.1 current daily spin of Lubuntu 12.04 desktop amd64. Bug is still present.
Manual Installation Test (Do Something Else) installed clean
Auto resize (Along Side) installed cleanly
LiveCD sessions tested okay as well.
Will test tomorrow's spin as well.

If you're using a live-usb to install does it have a swap partition?

I use CD's and/or DVD's and I've been unable to reproduce this with only one drive attached and performing an entire disc install.

I typically use a live USB with persistence then I can easily get my wifi
working before doing the install.
I do have some CDs laying around and I could try them and a non-persistent
USB just to check those
options against the Bug. Good ideas thanks.

I'm just now burning a 20120411.1 i386 disc to test something totally unrelated and I'd like to perform the proper test.

I'd planned on overwriting one of two existing partitions with one existing swap partition.

We have plenty of time to figure this out though, but I'd like to be able to come up with something totally reproducible by the 23rd.
