Bug Description

Hello,

I write you because I think it could be usefull to have a shortcut for lauching
Nautilus.
For lauching Explorer in MS Windows the shortcut is "Windows" + E

Other win shortcuts should be add to gnome desktop.

(moreover some keyboards have a Linux key instead of the Windows key... so it
could be a good thing to use it)

See at http://www.windowsxpforums.com/keyboard_shortcuts.htm

Some very usefull shortkeys are

# Windows Logo: Start menu (will open a contextual menu with "Applications")
# Windows Logo+R: Run dialog box (
# Windows Logo+M: Minimize all
# Windows Logo+F: Find files or folders
# Windows Logo+E: Windows Explorer

A "gnome-shortcuts" application could be done to assign shortcuts to
application/action.

Thanks

gnome-keybinding-properties does that. You can find it in the computer menu ->
desktop preferences
-> shortcuts. You can use the "Home folder" shortcut to launch nautilus

All right, it's what I was looking for...

but you can't add (easily) your own action (without editing a file)

I also think that as gnome-keybinding-properties exists
it's very easy for you to add the shorcuts I said
(because they are very common for Windows users)

Moreover "Windows" key shortcuts FAILS with gnome-keybinding-properties
I can't edit to Windows+E for "browsing home directory" (I don't know if it's
exactly the good sentence as I use locale fr)
Windows+E always show Super_L (without E)

Thanks

Windows key (Super_L) should be considered as a mask key (like Shift, Alt)

An other things to do is to add a "return to default configuration" button.

you're adressing 2 issues already reported here:
- we need to add an easy way to get extra shortcuts
- the windows key doesn't work as expected

I'm marking the bug as duplicate on one of the 2 bugs but the second issue
is already on work

A very useful shortcut is the Kde : CTRL+ALT+ECHAP
It change "standard icon" to a "kill icon"
So you can easily kill a program

Thanks again... and sorry for duplicate... ;-)
