Bug Description

I had used previously Kubuntu 6.10 and my PC videocard was detected as 'OpenChrome' and worked perfectly with this ñmodule.

At present I've installed Kubuntu 7.04 Beta in the same machine. My videocard is detected again (of course) as 'OpenChrome' but has been installed as a 'Vesa'.
In this conditions it works but very slowly to see videos at full screen.

I've tried to change hardware configuration manually but... it says than openchrome module doesn't exists.

Thanks.

Thanks for the bug report. Have you tried installing xserver-xorg-video-unichrome with apt-get? It wasn't installed by default for me.

Also you may have to manually set it up in xorg.conf as "unichrome". Best of luck.

Here's my lspci output (note that I have run update-pciids - because the Via Chrome device wasn't being picked up in Feisty Beta - and still isn't within the Gnome Device Manager.)

Wonder whether this bug sequence is a duplicate of 68901?

When I use the 'unichrome' Driver I get a failed X server. From Xorg.log

(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//unichrome_drv.so
(EE) LoadModule: Module unichrome does not have a unichromeModuleData data object.
(II) UnloadModule: "unichrome"
(II) Unloading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//unichrome_drv.so
(EE) Failed to load module "unichrome" (invalid module, 0)
