Blank white windows with proprietary Nvidia driver

Bug Description
When using Unity with proprietary nVidia driver, version >= 280 with Unity, all windows become blank white, although this version is marked "Recommended" in Additional Drivers.
This occurs on Unity only, not Unity 2D.
This does not occur with version 173 of nVidia driver.
