gnome-settings-daemon eats all the CPU

Bug Description

When I am trying to play a video in youtube, in either html5 or flash format. The gnome-settings-daemon starts to use all the CPU and the video becomes extremely choppy. Even if I close firefox, it continues to eat at 100% of the CPU.
