unity: length restrictions shortcut overlay translations

Bug Description
The lengtyh of the strings shown in the unity help overlay (hold down the super/windows key) is restricted, but this is not clear to translators. On my screen (1400x900) the restrictions appear as follows:
The shortcut column: 22 characters
The explanation column: 42 characters
As far as I can tell all these translations are located in plugins/
It would be nice if
1) The size of the overlay would automatically adapt to the length of the longest strings.
or, easier
2) If a comment for translators could be placed in the pot files at relevant strings. For example:
#Translators: the translations must not exceed 22/42 characters, or they will be truncated
