Compiling a new kernel results in HAL error message

Bug Description

I compiled a new kernel (using make-kpkg), doing barely any changes.
However, no matter what I do, I always get a message involving hald.c
stating that some features may not be available. This seems to be an issue w/
the kernel tree, or something
in the default kernel configuration.
