default browser hardcoded firefox not a fake browser

Bug Description

Binary package hint: checkgmail

In checkgmail the default web browser is set to firefox, it would make much more sense to set it to something like x-www-browser to minimize the number of places where the user is supposed to select his web browser.

I would like to help with this old bug.
Firstly are you still affected by this bug in the latest (lucid) release of ubuntu.
Secondly run checkgmail -update
