Menus on menu bar not in global menu bar. See attached pic.

If you start Synaptic as non-root (e.g. typing "synaptic" in a terminal) you'll see Synaptic's menus in the global top bar. The bug is not in Synaptic; any root application will not export its menus to the global top bar. The bug is therefore in indicator-application, and that is the bug report 592842.
