After today incoming linux-image-3.0.0-18-generic upgrade cannot get my session working

After today incoming linux-image-3.0.0-18-generic upgrade cannot get my session working

Below the entire upgrade detail, after it i cannot get my regular user session working i get only the "X" pointer of xorg, screen is black, if i start with previous kernel all works i have same issue on two different pc (the other pc has an ati video cpu) here

I don't have the same problem but I noticed some very strange behaviours with the new Kernel.

For example my Opera was crashing all the time… – After booting into linux-image-3.0.0-17-generic again everything was/is O.K. again…

Also my Wifi disconnected and my banking software Hibiscus/Jameica crashed unexpectedly with 3.0.0-18. :-/

I have build a test kernel that we would like you to test if possible. The only addition commit on this test kernel is 93dc6107a76daed81c07f50215fa6ae77691634f "Don't limit non-nested epoll paths".

Could you please check if it solves the issues you're having and report back? You can get this kernel here:

The kernel from comment #3 made it worse if anything. Even lightdm did not start for me. When I boot 3.0.0-17 everything is all right.

3.0.0-19 that arrived today fixes the problem for me.
